Will you make this language dirtier by dropping F-Bomb?
When I read Herald Sun today about Communications Minister Stephen Conroy who has dropped F-bomb live on national television during children’s viewing hours, I thought if the F-word is part of Australian language. Nowadays when something bad happens, many people are used to saying dirty words such as damn, hell, s— and a terrible word, f—. You can hear f— word not only from daily life but also from television programs or movies.
When I arrived in Australia I was a little bit shocked when my friend said f— word when something bad happened to him. I thought why he so easily said bad, It must be so nice if he said “Astagfirulloh” or anything else except bad words. But I realized it was not only him who said F-bomb word but my other friends also, my classmates also, everyone on the street, people on the shop or workshop.
It looks habitual when you get mistakes and people yell you F-bomb word. But have you ever thought that F-bomb is a violent and spiteful word that will make someone intimidated? If you were the person yelled by another how do you feel? I think it is hurt….
So why we have have to try to stop saying F-bomb, try to share our emotion without coarse words. Otherwise you will make F-bomb become part of your language.
